Georgia from Hong Kong ready for round two

My name is Georgia Lo, I’m 11 years old and a young and competitive cyclist from Hong Kong China. This is my second time competing at the European Junior Cycling Tour Assen in category 4 and my heart is filled with excitement. Moreover, I will have a 14-hour flight to Amsterdam.

My coaches from Team INVIS Hong Kong will help me and my teammates who are participating, pack their bikes. There will be about 11 to 12 people travelling to the Netherlands. I will be going with my teammates and coaches without my parents. It will be tremendously exciting for sure!

I am looking forward to the stage 2 race, because I got the best result there last year.

Last year, limited racing experience outside of my city stopped me from achieving my goal. That disappointment made me more eager to train relentlessly all year, and made me more eager to go through the tough times I had during practice.

My biggest goal this year is to claim one of the competitions iconic jerseys: Green, polkadot, pink or the most popular yellow overalls leader’s jersey. Each jersey represents the hard work for different racing achievements, and bringing one home would make my biggest dream come true.

This year, I am more experienced and I acknowledge the fierce competition from strong and skilled young European riders. Yet I am way more prepared than I was twelve months ago.  Even though I’m nervous, I’m ready to give it all in every stage.

No matter if I win or lose, I plan to savour every second of this important race. I am here to race hard, to put in all my effort, and to chase my dream jerseys and grow as a young cyclist!

Georgia will let us know Friday how her week went.
