Registration started, first categories closing
Monday 2 February, 3pm CET
Registration for the 59th European Junior Cycling Tour Assen opened today. After just five hours, we already have 362 participants and some categories are already full. For the first time in history, category 1 is full. Category 5 is also closing, and there are only a handful of places left in categories 3, 4 and 6. You can still register for categories 1 and 5 but will be placed on a waiting list for now.
Dutch riders!
However, we are keeping a few places open for Dutch participants in all categories until 1 April. One of the most important goals of our Foundation is to support young cyclists, especially in our own country. After 1 April, these places will go to international riders on the waiting list.
International list of participants
As always, there is a lot of interest in our unique cycling week. There are now (2pm on Monday 2 February) 26 nationalities on the start list, with the British forming the largest group with 122 riders, followed by the Netherlands with 73 and Germany with 41 riders. There are now 271 boys and 91 girls registered.
